Health of Children and Young People

Overview
The health of children and young people is the foundation of any strong and sustainable society. This age group-spanning infants, school-aged children, and adolescents-is particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, developmental delays, preventable diseases, abuse, mental health challenges, and social exclusion. Their well-being is shaped by factors such as family care, access to healthcare, education, safety, and emotional stability.
At Wake Up Health Organization, we believe that every child and youth deserves the right to grow up healthy, nourished, protected, and empowered. We take a holistic view that goes beyond physical health, addressing emotional development, mental wellness, and life-skills education. Our approach places strong emphasis on early intervention, community care, and child-centered rehabilitation that gives every young person the chance to thrive.
Awareness & Education
Raising awareness about child and youth health involves educating caregivers, teachers, and communities on the vital importance of early nutrition, immunization, mental health support, and safe environments. Our educational programs cover topics such as balanced diets, hygiene, emotional well-being, puberty education, bullying prevention, and the impact of digital exposure on mental health.
We also empower young people directly by offering age-appropriate workshops, peer mentorship, and school-based health education programs that encourage them to take part in their own well-being. We focus on rights-based education, helping youth understand their health rights, recognize signs of harm, and build the confidence to seek help. When children and young people are informed and heard, they become healthier and more resilient.
Support, Recovery & Rehabilitation
We provide direct support to children and youth through access to pediatric health screenings, nutritional counseling, emotional therapy, and developmental assessments. Our services also include vaccination drives, after-school care, and safe spaces for youth expression and emotional healing.
For those recovering from malnutrition, trauma, abuse, or illness, our rehabilitation programs offer age-sensitive care designed to restore health, safety, and confidence. This includes school reintegration support, play therapy, counseling for behavioral or emotional challenges, family therapy, and developmental rehabilitation for those with physical or cognitive delays. We also provide essential resources such as nutritious food packages, hygiene kits, and referrals to specialized pediatric care. At the core of our work is the belief that investing in children is investing in our future-and every young life deserves the chance to flourish
